PRIDE(2019)

Mother NY’s pride installations recognizing the lives lost due to transphobic violence.

In response to the then-recent death of Layleen Cubilette-Polanco in her cell at Riker’s Island, we wanted to call attention to the origins of Pride as not only a time to be proud, but also courageous in the face of injustice.

Enlarging the symbol of the brick as the initial catalyst of the Stonewall Riots, we remind viewers to not be silent in response to the ongoing injustices against the LGBT+ community.
