CHING SHIH 鄭氏(2019)
A fully bilingual biography about one of the most successful pirates in history—a Chinese woman named Ching Shih born in the 18th century.
Inspired by worn pages of goverment documents and contemporary typography, I wanted to find the balance between old and new aesthetics in this book. It was also vital that I find display faces in both English and Chinese that felt dually elegant and edged to match Ching Shih’s personality and ethos.
